I tell you every week, YOU ARE AMAZING.
With Christmas less than a week away (seriously – where did this year go!) you’re probably thinking about your holiday plans. The people you are going to see, the gifts you are going to give, the foods you are going to eat! And, while these are all amazing things to enjoy, it’s also a great time of year to give yourself a huge pat on the back for your fitness achievements in 2018. Then you can truly enjoy a well-earned festive break before jumping into a shiny new year.
So, before you say “but I haven’t really done that much…” I want you to take a moment to think about your year. Maybe you’re walking more than you have ever done before, maybe your diet has got a little cleaner or perhaps you have achieved a personal milestone at the gym. The fact is, that it doesn’t matter what the size of your fitness achievement is, making any small step towards a healthier you is a reason to celebrate.
I’m so proud of what you have achieved, and can’t wait to see what you have up your sleeve for 2019!
Write it Down
We often think about resolutions for the next year right now, but I think it’s so important to get down on paper the steps you have made this year. By seeing what you have achieved and where you have come from, you can make smarter leaps forward over the next twelve months. So, grab your notebook and scribble down your biggest hits of 2018, you might be surprised about how far you have come!
Share Your Success
You have made a commitment to yourself to be a healthier and happier you, that’s awesome! And the people you love will be thrilled to share in your success. Make your announcement as big or small as you feel comfortable with. Create a social media post, tell your best friend or share your achievements with your partner. They are going to be so proud of the things you have done!
After all that hard work, a little self-love is in most definitely called for. Hit the shops to overhaul your wardrobe, treat yourself to that tech gadget you have been craving or simply enjoy a quiet afternoon in with a new book and your favourite chocolate. The point is to take some time and energy out to celebrate the progress you have made!
That’s all folks. This is my last blog post before Christmas, and I want to wish you all a very happy and healthy holiday season. Enjoy the break! I’ll be back next week with my final post of 2018 and some tips to keep you motivated for a whole new year of fitness and wellbeing. Until then, keep being amazing. And don’t be afraid to shout about it!
